Seems like everyone barely got tired of discussing the pros and cons of the iPhone 5, and we already have the first rumours regarding its successor. The next smartphone from Apple will almost surely be named iPhone 5S, and according the latest info, it is planned to enter mass production in July. Since Apple usually starts production a couple of months ahead of the official announcement in order to stock up on inventory to satisfy the huge demand, we will most likely see the device officially revealed sometime in Fall. Two prototypes are said to be in testing currently, dubbed N51 and N53. Drastic changes shouldn’t be expected, especially in the design, but the iPhone 5S might get an improved camera, possibly a Sony 13-megapixel unit, and a more powerful LED flash. A faster CPU is also expected.
New iPads are also expected around the same time. The iPad mini is expected to keep the same design and functionality but receive a Retina display, while the larger iPad 5 is still a huge question mark for all of us. The new iPhone, and possibly the tablets as well, are expected to have fingerprint scanning functionality, as Apple has recently purchased the technology from Authentec. How exactly it’ll be used in the gadgets is anyone’s guess.
