A couple of days ago we wrote that Sony were going to release the tablet version of their anticipated Xperia Z smartphone. Now these rumors are confirmed, and the Xperia Tablet Z is officially announced!
Just as we expected, Sony’s flagship tablet will have a 10.1-inch screen with resolution of 1920 x 1200, and though it does sound good enough, the market has far better screens, too: for example, the resolution of the 10-inch screen of the Google Nexus 10 is 2560 x 1600. Our guess about quad-core 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro was also correct.
The camera of the Sony Xperia Tablet Z has 8.1MP lens, which is not bad for a tablet. It will also offer the Sony S-Force sound that is promised to bring “a sense of spaciousness“, whatever it means. And of course it supports NFC, just like all new devices made by Sony.
The tablet is 6.9mm slim and weighs less that 500 grams; it is also waterproof and dust-proof, which makes it even more attractive.
No pricing and availability details have been revealed yet, but we’re sure Sony won’t make us wait for too long.
