Though torrents are among the most spread ways for DDoS attacks, people continue using this service. If you have a fast Internet connection and your computer doesn’t store any precious information, torrent sites can be the best way to get what you need. But how can you manage your torrents if you spend much time far away from your PC? A long time ago this problem was sold for Android phone owners, and now I have good news for Windows Phone users, too — the official uTorrent Remote Beta app is available at the MarketPlace.
BitTorrent now owns uTorrent and though there are many third-party apps for this service, it’s nice to see an official one, too. uTorrent Remote allows users to connect to their PC or Mac remotely and manage it: start, stop, and check downloads. Moreover, users can even check their RSS feeds and shift completed files directly to their phones.
Obviously, it’s not a full torrent client to run on your phone, and there is no need for it, but the uTorrent Remote Beta app is a perfect tool to manage your uTorrent running on your PC. Though the app is still beta and runs with many bugs and limitations, everything is promised to be fixed soon. When the Android variant was available, the app required uTorrent 3.0; I guess this one has similar requirements, too.
Below is the full description of the app:
Torrent Remote Beta is part of the latest µTorrent for Windows and Mac. This Windows Phone app securely connects to your home computer from anywhere you have an internet connection. Use µTorrent Remote to add, remove, start, stop torrents and check download progress of all your torrents. Check your RSS feeds and start downloads on the go. Use your mobile browser to find torrents and they will automatically be added to your home µTorrent! Completed downloads can even be shifted directly back to your Windows device for local playback.
